REV IT UP!

The "Windy City Rev Ups" perform popular music that is guaranteed to get night clubs rockin', blues rooms smokin' and dance floors hoppin'. Their music captures the characteristic R&B sound of the band's home town of Chicago fused with traditional guitar driven rock n' roll. Early on the Windy City Rev Ups learned a few essential things about the music they play ... get back to basics, give it all you got and play it live! Since their very first performance they begin creating music that is soulful, in the moment and spontaneous. The band has been performing together as an ensemble of professional musicians for over 10 years, this deep-down tightness comes bursting out at their live performances. The Windy City Rev Ups (WCRU) are a hard working band, their credentials include 1,000's of performances, 100's of popular cover songs & originals, showcased in great venues all over Chicago and throughout the USA ... more than 50 Midwest cities! WCRU performs in both large & small night club venues and at festivals, special events and private party's. Premier events include numerous performances at the Taste of Chicago, Chicago House of Blues and the Chicago Blues Festival. Special events include performances at US Cellular Field, Soldier Field Stadium and at the most recent sold out Chicago Rock n' Roll 1/2 Marathon!

WCRU shows highlight the blue eyed lead singers soulful voice and they have some serious guitar chops combined with bluesy harmonica playing and authentic Hammond B3 organ & Leslie speaker tone. WCRU is a tight, rockin' band that plays lots of gutsy tunes, both covers and full throttle originals. The band's sound is R&B based, a mix of musical styles & genres depending on the type of venue or event - Rock (Classic, Southern & Latin Rock), Blues (Standards & Contemporary), Dance (Motown) and Swing (East & West Coast). The Windy City Rev Ups know what type of songs people enjoy and the right time to play them! Their live performances are energetic and fun ... a guaranteed rubber burnin', wheel poppin', high octane show every time!

GREAT SONGS!

WCRU has released two retail CD's that have received radio air play in the United States and all over the world. They are regularly featured on European radio programs that seek out new, up & coming recording artists from the US. Both CD's "Live In Chicago" & "Swing Out Chicago" are distributed worldwide and available on-line at CD Baby & iTunes. The band also has a limited edition live CD titled "Rev It Up" that is available exclusively at live performances.  WCRU periodically releases to fan club members bootleg quality recordings of recent performances that capture less frequent acoustic band shows, new material and misc. special events.

July and August are filled with great shows, plus a "live" acoustic show recording on July 14th at Hanson Brothers Taverns featuring the Acoustic Rev Ups all star line up! Check out the band at House of Blues on July 30th and all over Chicago!

June 2010 was a rockin' month! Performances include US Cellular Field - White Sox Game, Chicago Blues Festival, Chicago House of Blues and Taste of Chicago, plus several of WCRU's favorite night clubs.

On April 7, 2010 radio station WRMC “Puttin’ on the Dog” presented an hour of Chicago Music featuring a live interview with Windy City "Rev”. The radio interview featured songs from Chicago artist such as Lonnie Brooks, Lurrie Bell and numerous songs from WCRU's Swing Out Chicago & Live In Chicago CD's: Everyday I've Got The Blues, Alley Cat Blues, I Should Have Known, Halfway Home, Shine So Bright, Maxwell Street, All Along The Watchtower and Swing Out Chicago! Special thanks to Plainfield TV Group for producing, recording and featuring 9 original WCRU songs on Channel 6 local TV, which aired Jan 1, 2 & 3. The songs included Swing Out Chicago, I Should Have Known, Alley Cat Blues, Halfway Home, Red White & Blue (tribute to the men & women serving in the Armed Forces), Here Tonight, Can't Stop Time and Love Reaction, plus a new Jam (future original)!

2009 was a great year for WCRU ... performing over 80 rockin' gigs! They included a late December revved up show on the Back Porch Stage at Chicago's House of Blues, Taste of Chicago sponsored by BEST BUY and a crazy 9:00 AM ... Chicago Rock n' Roll Half Marathon performance on the lake-shore! Special thanks to Ocean Eyes Performance Eye-wear for sponsoring WCRU as their exclusive rock n' roll band and bringing their cool performance eye-wear to the Windy City ... thanks for attending the Morgan's on Maxwell Street unplugged show!

To our fans ... thank you for attending the new venue shows, we appreciate your support! We also know that you like your favorite local entertainment venues so we will continue to travel around Chicago quarterly performing in your area. Also, thanks for your Cub's Baseball Movie - We Believe The Movie CD compilation web votes ... the single "Swing Out Chicago" was entered into the Top 15 and won!

• ACOUSTIC SHOWS: These shows feature a line up of acoustic guitar players rippin' through all types of great tunes! The two core band members are the foundation, Rich & George. They are accompanied by additional musicians at most shows. The acoustic line up is sometimes referred to as the "Travelin' Di Meola's" because of the Mediterranean show vibe and guitar virtuosity. The acoustic band performs in smaller venues and at private engagements. The acoustic band performs all over Chicago and regularly at Hanson Brothers Tavern on the Northshore and Julian's Piano Bar on the Westside. Special acoustic events include 2010 Chicago Blues Festival, House of Blues tent sponsored by Live Nation. Check the schedule for upcoming acoustic shows!

• SPECIAL GUESTS: Mickey Gentile on bass is performing with the band regularly on special events and Clif Lee will be featured on saxophone & flute at several upcoming night club shows. This summer Steve Ditzell "Blue Lightning" will also be featured, plus several other great Chicago musicians.
